Released by Fellside Recordings The Pilgrim Soul sees Maddie continuing to move in a musically traditional

direction while still retaining her own trademark style. This album further showcases her ability not only to tell poignant

and absorbing stories of her own but to interpret traditional material in a sensitive yet contemporary fashion.

"One of the best albums of 2005. A real gem." Mike Harding

"She possesses a pure-toned voice...and whether performing her own self-penned songs or reviving traditional tunes,

comes across as authentically traditional...an excellent contemporary slant on the folk tradition." Maverick

"In "Misery Point" she comes up with a tragic character who is as poignantly real as any character that the late Dennis

Potter ever invented.....and her version of Andy M. Stewart's "The Valley of Strathmore" truly moved me." The Living

Tradition

"All in all, this is an absorbing and compelling release which surely gives us proof positive that Maddie's a creative force

to be reckoned with." Net Rhythms

"What a joyous revelation this CD is....This is a CD of great musical integrity, of substance and control." Stirrings

"The approach and style is modern rather than traditional, somewhat reminiscent of some of Sandy Denny's material..."

Hollow - £5 (+p&p)

M10c.jpg (26856 bytes)

Hollow is a 5 track EP and Maddie's second recording. It is more roots based with the inclusion of the classic Fairport Convention song Crazy Man Michael and the traditional folk song When I Was On Horseback. Like her debut Unlikely Prom Queen this EP has been self-produced and recorded at Attic Attack studios, Bristol.

" (Maddie's) wide appeal...could be attributed to many things but for my money I think it's because her songs are just amazing."
Decode Magazine
